Worker's Compensation
The term "workers' compensation" refers to a policy conforming to state law, which pays benefits to an employee (or an employee's family) if the employee suffers a job-related injury (including death), or disease related to work.
Filing a workers' compensation claim is a request for benefits. In a scenario such as Kayvan’s, we did not need to personally initiate the claim.
Under the Workers’ Compensation Act there are four types of disability.
Please note that although the definitions state 2/3 of salary, there is a cap to the dollar amount despite the amount earned.
Also, by choosing to be paid under one of the below types of disability, you may be forfeiting your right to another. This could hurt you financially, which is why it is best to involve an attorney.
